The breakfasts were poor value for money

This hotel is in an excellent location, and the building is a little bit different as well - nice high ceilings in the rooms and a vintage staircase. A bit more special than your standard chain hotels.

The rooms are very hot if you don't have the air con on, and the air con is very loud when it is on.

This hotel was way over priced, the breakfast was not included as we thought it was! No interest in us from your staff that were all from other countries and were difficult if not impossible to understand.Left my feelings on a card in hotel room and had to write them under the previous quests as the cleaning staff did not remove them.He/she thought the place was unacceptable.I Booked one of the best rooms in the building and it was a complete disgrace, iam disgusted and this ruined my weekend with my partner that I had just got engaged to.NEVER Again you need a hotel inspector in there! Dam disgrace

Very clean and stylish. Also well equipped - I liked the added touch of a cafetiere in the rooms - just a shame the coffee wasn't that great quality.

The reception staff promised to email me a copy of the reciept as their printer wasn't working. Despite calling up after I still have not received this (a month later).

Central city location, close proximity to central train station and city centre carparking, near to many top bars and restaurants, and shopping centre 5mins walk

The location was perfect for my daughter and myself who wanted shopping and wine bars! The hotel was stylish and the staff friendly and helpful. Am unable to use the drop down box below asking me who I travelled with - no Mum and Daughter on there.

  • Older travelers

Excellent location, well designed, good attention to detail – eg cotton sheets, cafetiere – a quality boutique hotel at an affordable price

Windows didn't open, aircon very noisy but room hot without it. Receptionist very pleasant but should be better informed (eg about information centre opening times) and forgot our alarm call

  • Older travelers

staff very helpful, change our room after 1 night when we reported the air condition wasn't working. Very central location for shop, bars, restaurants etc..

No view from the window due to it being at the back of the building.

    Central location

Room was too small for 2 people. It was very dark and looked out on brick wall. Also there was a very noisy vent outside so there was a constant drone. I think it was very poor value at £90 a night.

  • Group of friends

The location was excellent and the lovely welcome I received from the staff every time I came into the hotel.

Nice clean room, comfortable large bed, good restaurant attached to the hotel (living room). Good location very helpful staff

The hotel was nice, staff very good but the room we had ( No34) was facing the street and the traffic noise was very disturbing. It was a pity because it spoilt our time at the hotel because of a poor nights sleep. The weekend we picked was the great north run and your prices were increased which meant for us it was poor value considering the discomfort. Had the hotel not been full we would have asked to change to a room not facing the street which would have been much quieter. I considered asking for a refund but it was not the fault of your staff that we had a noisy room. Would stay with you again but not on the premium weekend and not in a room facing the street. Also tv in room extremely poor reception. The staff did respond to our complaint immediately but very little improvement in the tv picture

Room was spacious and modern but poorly ventilated. Great central location and good value

We ate in the Living Room, the hotel restauarant. We waited hours for our food which was uninspiring when it did finally arrive
